Italian SMEs can now pay government fees, fines, and obligations from the same platform they use for banking, invoicing, and expense management

Amsterdam / Milan - April 9, 2026 – Finom, the leading European financial platform for SMEs and entrepreneurs, announces the integration of pagoPA, MAV, and RAV payment systems into its Italian business accounts. The launch makes Finom one of the few digital banking alternatives in Italy where business owners can handle public administration payments, tax obligations, and government fees from the same account they use for invoicing, expense management, and everyday banking.

The new payment methods are available immediately on web, iOS, and Android for all Finom business customers in Italy. MAV payments are free on every Finom plan, always. pagoPA and RAV transactions come with six months free on all plans (Grow, Pro, Smart,  Basic and Solo) - up to 30 transactions per month. The integrations follow F24 tax payments, already live on web and mobile, which is free and unlimited on all plans.

Closing the payment gap that keeps Italian entrepreneurs tied to traditional banks

Italy counts approximately 4.9 million SMEs - 99% of all active businesses in the country - according to ISTAT data reported by Economyup.  Yet many of these business owners still rely on a traditional bank account alongside their primary account solely to pay government fees, traffic fines, condominium charges, or tax collection notices. The scale of these obligations is significant: by the end of 2025, the national pagoPA platform had processed over 448 million transactions worth more than €100 billion, according to Agenda Digitale.

The pagoPA, MAV, and RAV integration follows a series of Italy-specific product launches since Finom entered the market in June 2024 with integrated e-invoicing and business banking with local Italian IBANs. • MAV (Pagamento Mediante Avviso): Settle pre-filled payment notices for installments, condominium fees, association memberships, and recurring service payments - free on all plans.
• RAV (Ruoli Mediante Avviso): Pay traffic fines, overdue taxes, administrative penalties, and collection notices from public authorities.
• F24 Ordinario/Accise tax forms: Already live on web and mobile, free and unlimited on all Finom plans.

The feature is powered through a partnership with Fabrick and Banca Sella, connecting Finom directly to Italy's national payment infrastructure.

A competitive edge most digital banking alternatives don't offer

Among the major digital banking platforms serving Italian businesses, full support for pagoPA, MAV, and RAV remains uncommon. Italy's public payment landscape is evolving - pagoPA is gradually replacing MAV and RAV, but both remain used today.
